Abstract

The bicycle disc-braking system in every aspect had been reviewed and examined in order to produce a disc brake that will perform excellently when braking. Safety requirements is also prioritised as it is important for bicycle users to feel safe and protected while riding a bike. Since bicycles do not have the same attributes as cars, they are considered to be less safe because they are not equipped with safety features such as seatbelts, bumpers, airbags and also new technologically advanced features ranging from stability control to pre-collision technology. Therefore, maximizing on the enhancement of a bicycle’s braking system is the best possible result to keep every bicycle user extra safe. Moreover, braking systems bicycles, offer control and stopping force, both of which are crucial. A just bicycle disc brake is then customized and produced based on a variety of factors that is backed up by research papers such as articles and journals obtained, to better help comprehend how a disc brake works and what affects it. By utilising the information gathered, it would lead to the creation of a disc brake design that is most efficient in terms of braking power and durability. By testing the brake disc virtually using Solidworks 2023 and also physically, using an actual bicycle, results are gathered and compared to analyse the efficiency of the brake disc compared to other brake discs.
