Abstract

In this project, an Arduino microcontroller will be used to create and implement a hidden door lock mechanism. A specific knocking pattern that functions as a safe and invisible unlocking method triggers the system. The sensor detects the pattern of knocks through the conversion of knocks into electrical impulses. After analyzing these signals by the Arduino, the door lock is unlocked if the pattern matches to the pre-programmed sequence. Even with modern door locks such as keys, access cards, padlocks and keypads, there is still a chance of unwanted door opening since ill-intentioned individuals can simply get past security systems and enter people’s homes. In order to make it more difficult for strangers to break into a person’s property, this secret door lock system enables users to customize various knocking patterns. The Arduino IDE program was utilized to create the code for the secret door lock mechanism. The solenoid lock would be in the "unlocked" condition and emit a green LED light when the knocking pattern is authentic. The solenoid lock would stay in "locked" mode and emit a red LED light if the knocking pattern is incorrect.
