Abstract

This report presents a chili watering system that is IoT-based and automatically manages watering through the use of an Arduino microcontroller for efficient and sustainable irrigation. Usually, manual watering leads to fluctuations in the soil moisture content, water being wasted, and low yields. To fix this problem, the system utilizes soil moisture sensors, a relay-controlled pump, and an IoT module for automatic control based on the actual conditions. When the soil moisture content is less than the predetermined limit, the data handling and pump activation are done by the Arduino. The IoT functionality allows users to check and set the system using cloud platforms which are accessible via phones or computers and also provide live data visualization. Building the system and testing it resulted in water savings and lesser labor besides good crop health. The system provides a cost-effective and scalable solution that is even suitable for small-scale applications, thus it is perfect for water-sensitive plants like chili
