Abstract

Energy crisis become more and more concern in today’s world and thus the advanced of power generation is become one of the topics that human pay attention .Since the demand of energy was increasing from time to time, perfect solutions is needed to deal with these sorts of problems in case to carry out the renewable source of energy. Nowadays renewable energy becoming potential industry with massive amount of researches focusing and exploring new and effective ways to harvest the power from different fields. But these renewable energy sources have to filtered and selected in practical manner by keeping sight on all the research or investigation regarding to power generation. In this beginning of this project, problem statement and literature review is done on the project idea. The objective of this footstep power generator is to abstract renewable energy by using simple drive mechanism. The process comes with preliminary designs where the idea drawn in Solidworks constructing the first conceptual design of mechanical footstep generator. However due to components sourcing issue, the first preliminary design was renounce and come out with second preliminary design In this project, the linear motion of rack converted into rotational motion, in other word is the conversion of force energy to electrical energy. The project consists of two main system which is the mechanical structure prototype and the electrical circuit that used to store the generated electrical. The parts for mechanical structure was fabricated first followed by the circuit system. The testing for both part was undergoes and the circuit was tested by using constant Dc supply to make sure the circuit is working as planned. Lastly, the prototype was completely according to schedule. Regarding the prototype it meets our requirements as it can generate electricity and store it into storage device. And the application function of the prototype can be one of the exercise equipment.
