Abstract

In the industry of load carrying on a daily basis, using a motorised trolley to transport items aims to reduce the physical strain experienced by users while also improving time efficiency as well. This project of designing a trolley with obstacle detection for load carrying will protect the safety and welfare of everyone, aligning with SDG 3 which is "Good Health and Well-Being" and SDG 12 which is "Responsible Consumption and Production". This trolley features motorised assistance in transporting loads, with automatic stopping capabilities when obstacles are detected in its path. The project uses an Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller to perform tasks such as enabling directional movements controlled by the user, able to stop automatically when obstacles with a height of more than 15cm and within a range of 20cm are detected, by using a pair of HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensors, as well as transporting loads exceeding 25kg using a pair of 12V, 220 RPM high-torque motors
