Abstract

This project covers the design and fabrication of slide core, ejection system and cooling system of the plastic injection mould that can produce card holder souvenir. The aim of this project is to design and fabricate the mould with the Tunku Abdul Rahman College’s machines and equipments such as CNC milling machine, CNC turning machine, plastic injection moulding machine and so on. Firstly, the data and information collection of the plastic injection moulding was done. After that, the mould base was bought and the design section was started to be carried on by Solid Works software. Then, the mould base will be machined in the lab in the college. After the fabrication section was done, the plastic injection mould designed and fabricated will be tested. In this project, the testing section was not success due to the limitation of the plastic injection machine. The maximum barrel heating capacity of the machine is not enough for a complete product of the design in this project. Finally, I sincerely hope that this thesis can give a clearer picture on plastic injection mould making and there will be improvement in the Tunku Abdul Rahman College.
