Abstract

A pulse jet engine is a jet engine that possesses the simplest working principle and is arguably the least complex of all jet engines made available in the world today. Recently, the invention of turbojet engines had inevitably made pulse jet engine obsolete. However, pulse jet engine is still is the choice of researchers as it is simple, affordable and has the least moving parts which made maintenance easy. Sketching pulse jet engine is essential as it provide an overall picture for a designing stage later. Designing using CIM software such as Solid works had greatly improved the sketch and also the material selection and certain design analysis. Researching by means of book, opinion, researched journals and internet greatly improve the material selection. After completing the prototype, experiments were conducted to determine the efficiency , thrust generated, efficiency improvement plans and other. All the data that were collected from the experiment were properly recorded for analysis. The cause for the failure in the prototype is analyzed and recommendations on improvement that can be done were given.
