Abstract

Authors name, Foo Tuck Fei, with regards to the title of the project "A design study to mount rubber wear bar and liners onto a dump truck body", there are two objectives to define, first are to replicate the design for mounting method of rubber wear bars and liners onto a dump truck body by using design software. Second are to further improve and the rubber wear bars and liners by installing incorporating suspending rubber springs in the dump truck body. The scope of this project is replicate and study design for mounting and installation method of rubber wear bar and liners onto a dump truck body. The mounting method will be presented with the dump truck drawing with a chosen standard dimension. In addition, the rubber wear bar which is elastomeric material with a reinforcing and mounting plate embedded there onto dump truck body. Hence, a brief study on the material have to be acquired. Furthermore, improvement made for dump truck body by installing incorporating suspending rubber spring. Hence, the analysis between the two designs in term of impact resistance could be done for differentiation and comparison.
