Abstract
The aim of this project was to analyze the failure ofa V-belt pulley in rear-mounted mower used in agriculture. In investigation on failure pulley, optical microscope viewing was used to understand material microstructure. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was to simulate pulley deformation. The examined results showed that the failure type was fracture on input pulley. In machinery industry, usage of new technology and incautious design features can cause some problems such as breakdowns, failures, etc. Analyzing failures occurred in different mechanisms always is the mission by engineer design the manufacturing or field operation. The main features for analyze is to prevent failure of machinery devices. Finite element analysis consists ofa computer model of a material or design that is stressed and analyzed for specific result. In case of structural failure, FEA may be used to help determine the design modifications to meet the new condition. This project presents the modeling and simulation of incubator using Solidworks 2010. The major study analysis of the FEA is the static loads, which is use the Solidworks Simulation. The results obtained are then discussed and recommendations are made to futher improve the structural design.
