Abstract

The aim of this project was to design and simulation the effect of impeller fan blades to the performance of the pump. In the investigation on impeller blades, SolidWorks computer sodtware use to design the impeller fan blades with a set of parameters such as number of blade, angle of the blades and thicknesses of the blades. Then the SolidWorks Flow Simulation was used to do the flow simulation on the designed impellers. In pump industry, usage of new technology and incautious design features can cause some problems such as breakdowns, failure, etc. Analyzing design occurred in different mechanisms always is the mission by engineer design the manufacturing or field operation. SolidWorks Flow Simulation consists of the model of the design that is analyzed for the fluid or air flow through a model design. Flow Simulation may be used to help determine the design modifications to meet the requirements. This project presents the modeling and simulation of impeller using SolidWorks 2012. The major study analysis of the Flow Simulation is fluid flow through the modification of impeller blades. The results obtained are then discussed and recommendations are made to futher improve the structural design.
