Abstract

ISO 9000 is a set of international standards of quality management created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The ISO guidelines have become increasingly popular for large and small companies alike. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a non-governmental organization that develops an international standard. ISO 9000 is an international standard that outline the requirement for a Quality Management System (QMS) that provide guidance and tools for companies and organizations who want to ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer’s requirements, and that quality is consistently improved. A newer version of ISO 9001 was released in September 2015. This thesis aims to study the standard of ISO 9000 requirement and its implementation to a crane hoist manufacturing company, Powertechnic Handling Equipment (M) Sdn Bhd. First, gap analysis was performed to identify the current practice of the company versus the ISO 9000 Standards. Thereafter, additional documentation has been developed to address the inadequate of the company in area that are lacking to the requirement of standard especially in the operational process of the business.
