Abstract

This dissertation is a result of the research into a study of environmental issue on construction sites and implementation of ISO14001. The objectives of this study is to investigate the environment issues at construction site and find the possible solution to solve the environment problem by implement the ISO 14001 as an Environment Management System (EMS). The method of data collection used is literature review and questionnaire. The sample of the study is the person in charge in the construction industry, such as main contractor and developer. The data is analyzed by using Microsoft Excel software. It can be concluded that the construction activities has cause a lot of pollution to the nature. It has cause the water pollution, noise pollution, and air pollution, wastage problem which is harmful to the human and animal. Besides that, role play by the relevant parties such as workers, client, government, site supervisor and etc. are very important in solving the environmental problem which is seriously destroyed and polluted due to constructions which developed rapidly years and years. Furthermore, by implementing the ISO 14001, it has brought a lot of benefit to the construction organization and decrease the pollution effectively. From the result collected from the respondents, it has achieved the objective of this research.
