The governments have implemented a lot of program to grow up the Malaysian construction industry to international based. However, the construction occupational safety is one of the problems that need to be focused to consolidate the construction industry to the greater height in future. Besides that, the accident rate of the construction will be increased continually without a successful approach that takes into the consideration of workers attitude, safety and responsibility. It will decrease the productivity and become severe when the case of injury and fatalities occur. The government bodies have played the vital roles to ensure the effectiveness of implementation of the safety programmes in construction industry. Therefore, the government bodies should indentify the main barrier and challenge in enforcement safety and health in construction industry. The stigma of the construction industry as dirty, difficult and dangerous has to be eliminated as this will jeopardize the industry’ image. All the construction plays should play their part to help the government bodies to build a construction industry that have a welfare working environment. The economy of the country will be more sustainable and resilient.
