Abstract

Turbo coding is widely used nowadays due to its marvellous performance which can produce almost error free communication transmission. It is implanted in 3G, 4G or even in WiMax system. Turbo codes was originally proposed for binary modulation however in order to achieve more bandwidth efficient, Trellis-Coded Modulation will be combined together with Turbo codes. The main purpose of this project is to work out a simulation of Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation (TTCM). In addition, the simulation of the original Turbo Codes was also carried out. The implementation of this project is fully conveyed by software simulation. Hence, no hardware was involved in this project. All the simulation of this project will be implemented into MATLAB software. The output of this project will be BER vs SNR graph.
