Abstract

Password authentication system is a widely known security system that is commonly used by many in this day and age. However, this authentication system is vulnerable and easily manipulated as impostors are only required to know the password to access a private space. Hence, keystroke dynamics is introduced to the conventional password authentication system to strengthen the security of the system. Keystroke dynamics is a method of identifying or authenticating an individual according to their manner and the rhythm of typing. The challenge of working with biometrics is the ability to categorize data of users and recognize the users accurately. This project features a keystroke authentication system using the ABC algorithm as a classifier to identify different individuals based on their keystroke biometric which are pressure, dwell time and flight time. The different parameters of the system are tested and analyzed for the best combination for the problem. The result of the research shows good accuracy in identifying the individuals through different combinations of features and parameters through ABC algorithm. This work proves that conventional password authentication system can be improved by itself without additional system implemented.
