Abstract

The energy resources of the world has been increase and penetrating into power system of every countries. The solar energy is radiant light from the sun, it is the renewable energy. The solar technology have been the future source of power for the world. Based on the principle of the solar panel, the solar energy can converted to electrical energy. The solar panel is related to the insolation and temperature. These will affected the power from solar panel. When the solar panel not stable, the both of the insolation and the temperature are also not stable as well. Hence, the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques are used to given the highest power to the batteries. The MPPT techniques are needed for the PV system to improve the efficiency of energy conversion. The advantages of the MPPT algorithms are investigated. It can show the performance and efficiency of these algorithms, by stimulation. Furthermore, the charging process of the battery is control by the buck-boost regulator. The Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm is used to track the MPP immediately and increase the performance of overall efficiency. In this project, the MATLAB model is used to analyze the efficiency of the solar panel, converter, and modal evaluation. The MPPT techniques, Perturb and Observe, Buck-Boost Regulator and Battery charging system are implemented. (Prenc, Škrlec, & Komen, 2013)
