Abstract

Mobile phones, laptops and tablets are smart devices that has been progressively developed to improve human life. Mobile internet has been widely used in this technologies era as it can help user get any information from internet. Software tool and mobile services built on mobile platforms have provided rich services for users in various industries and the public. Positioning system is one of the most frequently used and widely used system, and many other mobile applications use positioning system directly or indirectly. Global Positioning System has been able to provide users with high precision and high stable location services in open places such as outdoor areas with the help of satellites. The application has penetrated into various industries and the mass market. However, human activities are more frequent in the indoor places, the satellite signals received are often distorted due to the problems such as building shielding. It is not possible to measure the location of the target accurately in the indoor places through the global satellite positioning system. This project aims to develop an efficient Wi-Fi Fingerprinter which can successfully collect Wi-Fi data from the environment and analyze the histogram and normal distribution plotted from these Wi-Fi data. The Wi-Fi heat map of TARUC is also drawn and analyzed, as well as the effect of noise in Wi-Fi signal raised from mobile hotspots.
