Abstract

Nowadays, we are already familiar with the features of Siri, Cortana, or Google Now. Everything is a speech recognition based application that was introduced as to make it easier for us smartphone users. Now, just by giving voice commands, we can directly make calls, messages, write memos, open certain applications, or even browse the internet. Speech recognition is one form of artificial intelligence. The Speech Recognition is a system that able a computer to receive input in the form of a spoken word. It allows a device to recognize and understand the words spoken by digitizing words. Then it will match the digital signals with the trained word stored in a device. The words spoken are converted into digital signals from sound waves. The recognized of spoken words can be displayed or can be read by technology devices as a command to do a job, for example keystrokes on mobile phones that are carried out automatically with voice command. Speech is the most powerful communication method. With voice controlling, even difficult jobs enable to operate efficiently to a machines or a systems, which recognized the input speech. By using speech recognition system, user able to save time, it enables users to multitasking at the same time. There are total of five hardware and two software that are used in this project. The hardware that used is computer, microphone, Arduino Uno, DC motor and pulse width modulation. The software that used is Arduino software, and Microsoft visual studio. The user is required to speak to a microphone to do any function to the AC motor. Currently factory manufacturing process is highly dangerous due to electrocution and machine accident and requires labour involvement. The accidents in the high voltage can be reduced if speech recognition system is used. The main purpose of this project is to design and research the usage of speech recognition techniques to control the prototype of high voltage DC machine in factory.
