Abstract

Office building is the mainstay in central business districts where office is a commercial building that is used to carry out desk-based business related tasks. Many of the news articles have reported that current oversupply of office buildings in Klang Valley has been plaguing the industry in recent years. Thus, it has raised a research interest on investigating the impact of oversupply of office space in Klang Valley and determines the strategies to utilize the excessive office space in Klang Valley. A total 300 set of questionnaires has distributed through hard copy and google form. Yet, only 119 sets of questionnaires are received from the respondents and it has achieved the target sample size (100). The method of data collection in this dissertation is through primary (questionnaire survey) and secondary data (literature review). Moreover, the data collected from the respondents is analysed by using descriptive analysis through SPSS software. In summary, this dissertation provides an understanding of impact of oversupply of office space in Klang Valley as well as the ideal strategies can be adopted to overcome such situation. Ultimately, the result finding of this dissertation can be served as a valuable guideline and reference for the real estate professionals in order to improve the absorption rate and reduce the vacancy level of office stock in the market and eventually resolve the office oversupply issue in Malaysia.
