Abstract

This research has been carried out to archive the objectives of this study which are to identify the challenges faced by Malaysian’s citizen to own a residential unit and the effective solution in order to reduce and overcome the occurrences of oversupply of residential unit in Selangor Darul Ehsan. Apart from that, the problem statement is described in this study and the overview on oversupply of condominium unit in Selangor Darul Ehsan are provided as well. The adopted research method has been carried with primary and secondary data collection. Primary data collection consists of quantitative and qualitative, quantitative can be the questionnaire survey that constructed based on the aims and objectives of this research which distributed to Malaysian’s citizen which staying at Selangor Darul Ehsan. Then, the secondary data collection is from the literature study that found in the journal or article on the internet. For the research findings, most of the Malaysian’s citizen are facing challenges to own a residential unit. On top of that, the effective solution in order to reduce and overcome the occurrences of oversupply residential unit in Selangor Darul Ehsan are well identified from questionnaire survey. In fact, the main challenges is the increasing of construction cost that leads to the increase of housing price whilst the effective solution to solve this issue is Home Ownership Campaign (HOC). Overall, the data collected has been considered to achieve the research objectives. On top of that, the contribution and the implications of the findings is from the literature study.
