Abstract

Construction industry in Malaysia is very challenging which required good construction management including knowledge management in order to handle well the project. This research aimed to evaluate the current knowledge management practice in construction projects. Lastly, solutions to improve knowledge management practices are suggested in this study. At the beginning, the literature review gives a summary of the implementation of knowledge management, it including the processes and techniques are identify in order to find the level of implementation of knowledge management. Few solutions are suggested and opinions are obtained from respondents. Based on the literature review stated, a questionnaire survey is constructed. Furthermore, 70 sets of questionnaires have been prepared for obtaining the data and the target group of respondents are the people that are currently working in contractor firms or people that worked in contractor firms before. After the data is collected, it would be analyzed by using the frequency distribution method, multiple response analyzes method and independent samples t-test method. In short, this research can help people understand the knowledge management practices currently used in the construction industry and the benefits of making good use of knowledge management.
