Abstract

The study attempts to investigate the exploration in secondary usage packaging design that can be taken as alternative methods which encourage more consumers to choose to reuse packaging to reduce the behavior of packaging discards. Packaging is a physical object which communicates social meaning related not only to the product itself but to the environment impact. Through the visuals, the researcher will do an experiment on exploring the secondary usage packaging with creative designs. The scope of this study is to encourage people to reuse packaging rather than after used and throw away. The researcher has conducted two case studies to further understand the objectives of the researcher’s topic. The researcher has pleasure to interview Ms. Adelle Adrian, a packaging designer with more experience in design and more than 3 months experience in packaging design and Ms Yee Zi Ling who has 4 years experience in graphic design and 2 years experience in packaging design. The researcher has also selected some reference journals and their contents for analytical purposes for reference. The researcher has analysed and come up with two designs of secondary usage packaging design.
