Abstract

Eating disorder may lead to multiple psychological and physical complications and are likely to have an impact in terms of quality of life and even prevalence of death. An anxiety during education will lead to unbalance in term of cognition and also procedures distortions of perception. This research is going to be carry out to found out the connection between eating disorder and anxiety among TARUC college student. A total of 190 TARUC college students (121 males and 69 females; M age = 21.53; SD = 1.45) participated in this study by completing two questionnaires which are Eating Attitude Test 26 (EAT-26) and General Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7). The EAT-26 questionnaire found out that respondent who likely to have ED is 153 (80.5%) and only 37 (19.5%) respondents are unlikely to have ED. In the GAD-7 questionnaire, the result come out respondents that have minimal anxiety is 78 (41.1%), mild anxiety 62 (32.6%), moderate anxiety 37 (19.5%) and severe anxiety 13 (6.8%). Therefore, we can see that the respondents were minimal anxiety and mild anxiety, the total percentage is 73.7%. there was a significant correlation between eating disorder and anxiety level. There was no significant difference in eating disorder according to gender, age, and BMI. Lastly, there was no significant difference in anxiety according to gender, age and BMI. These two disturbances may have possible affect one another
