Abstract

TikTok has been rapidly increasing in use by the Malaysian young generation. The app was developed in China and is owned by Byte Dance. In the past, it was called as Musically, now known as TikTok, has expanded over 150 markets worldwide and is able to access 75 languages. Previous research has shown that image-focused applications cause a variety of mental health concerns such as body shaming, eating disorders, anxiety, and so on. The usage of this application has cause addiction and unhealthy lifestyle of young generation in Klang Valley.The article employs a pragmatic method to investigate in depth the reasons behind TikTok's sudden tremendous success amongst the youth, as well as its effects on the lifestyle. Quantitative data gathered is analyzed to use it in this study . The study proposes a theoretical framework as a roadmap of TikTok exploring the Types of content that people like and the impacts of TikTok towards the Malaysian young adults’ daily life, such as how this application has been influencing the young generation in this current age
