Abstract

Numerous variables have been identified as contributing to student withdrawal from athletics in an attempt to address this issue. This field of study is enormous and will continue to grow as long as colleges and universities confront dropout of athletes’ issues in sports; yet, little information on the intention of specific populations, such as college or university athletes, could be obtained.Hence this current study aimed to examining students-athletes motivations toward academic performance and sport achievement among Taruc students-athletes. Future research should re-evaluate the use of the academic and athletic motivation subscales when working with this population. This research only focused on students-athletes that are from Taruc. Therefore, future research could focus on students-athletes that are from other universities in Malaysia
