Abstract

By the advantage of the technology, a better way for a machine to receive the command from user is using the speech command. The system that use such command to control is done by using the speech recognition approach. The function of the speech recognition system is to convert the input speech to text and hence further processing can be done. This project is proposing the use of speech recognition system for hospital electrical system by using power electronic devices. The block diagram of a simple speech recognition system contains speech processing, features extraction, database, and pattern comparator. The speech recording and processing is done by using the GoldWave software and the speech recognition function is done by using the Microsoft Visual Studio software. The method of features extraction that used in this project is the linear predictive coding (LPC) and the method of pattern comparator that used in this project is dynamic time warping (DTW). After that, the power electronic devices should be used as the actuator to control the actual system from the output of the speech recognition system. However, the implementation of using the power electronic devices is failed because there is poor in circuit design. Last but not least, this project is to give contribution for the hospital user such as patient and medical staff. By using the speech recognition system, hospital user can use the electrical and electronic devices more comfortable.
