Abstract

Image processing is a method to perform operation on an image in order to get enhanced image or extract useful information form it. It is signal processing where the input is image while the output can be image or useful information associated with that image. The application of image processing is rapidly growing in most of the field. It forms core research area within engineering and computer science disciplines. Image processing basically including 3 step, which is image acquisition, analyzing and manipulate image, and getting output from the image. Fish is considering as one of the most favorite pet in our world. Owning a pet come with a great responsibility. It required attention and regular health care in order to maintain the health of the fish. Thus, a system that able to perform daily maintenance and detecting the common disease that infected on the fish. In this paper, a smart aquarium with fish recognition system is proposed. This project is the combination of image processing technique and microcontroller. The microcontroller is responsible on taking care of the water of the aquarium and the image processing is done by using Matlab.
