Abstract

An Android based apps was designed to collect information from Arduino UNO board that carries the result of the measurement value of waveform from input signal or resistance value from a component and display the result on the LCD screen of mobile device. The working principle of digital oscilloscope, multimeter was studied to carry out the research project. The prototype circuit that behaves like an oscilloscope and multimeter was designed separately to measure the two parameter values. The two value obtained were send to two separate analogue input pin of the Arduino UNO board and stored in the board. A Bluetooth module HC-05 module was connected to the Arduino board to engage Bluetooth connection to enabling mobile device pairing. By device pairing, information of results collected can be conveyed through the mobile screen and the reading of input can be observed. The apps developed are able to display waveform from the measured signal and resistance value of a component through different component. The hardware design are able to measure input sinusoidal waveform ranging from 0V-40V, that has a frequency of 100Hz to 10kHz, with an accuracy error of close to 10%. The design was also able to measure simple basic resistor with resistance value less than 1MΩ. The research objective was achieved where the prototype are able to behave like an oscilloscope and multimeter.
