Abstract

This project is about designing and developing NexPay, a secure, lightweight mobile wallet. While most e-wallets focus on large-scale banking integrations, NexPay emphasizes accessibility, financial literacy, and user control. We developed it with Flutter to deploy across platforms, Spring Boot to build backend services, and Next.js to manage. We integrated Firebase for cloud storage and SMS OTP authentication, and Stripe Payment Gateway APIs to process payments. With NexPay, you can transfer money between people, pay with QR codes, and manage wallets. It also comes with innovative modules like an Emergency Wallet that lets you delegate access during an emergency, a Digital Piggy Bank for saving, and Spending Limit Controls for keeping you on track. With profile management and revenue reporting, merchants can keep track of their revenue, while users can see what they're spending on by filtering categories and seeing top spending. With the Agile methodology, the system was designed to be iterative, feedback-driven, and adaptable. Our requirements were gathered through observation and questionnaires, and then we wrote functional and non-functional specs. We've built security and usability into the design, including PIN and biometric authentication, audit logging, and standards compliance. Overall, NexPay shows that mobile wallets can be secure, easy to use, and educated financial tools, bridging the convenience gap and financial responsibility. Not only did this project meet its immediate objectives, but it also provided a solid foundation for future enhancements and implementation.
