Abstract
Medical equipment includes any hardware, software, appliances, or other devices that people can use alone or in combination for medical purposes. The potential of medical equipment to improve healthcare outcomes is what makes it so important in Malaysian hospitals. However, medical equipment shortages in Malaysia hospitals, especially in smaller or rural facilities, are frequently made worse by ineffective manual donation procedures that lack automation, transparency, and efficient donor-hospital matching. In order to overcome these obstacles, this project creates an application for hospital-side medical equipment donation that combines AI-based urgent request detection, donor suggestions, and semi-automated equipment status updates. While administrators take care of hospital verification, the system allows hospitals to create accounts, submit requests for equipment, manage medical equipment received, and check the status of the equipment. Data-driven donor recommendations based on past donations, guided interfaces to minimise human input errors, and AI logic that automatically ranks urgent requests for quicker donor response are some of the key features. Flutter is used for the application's front end, Supabase is used for database administration, and Python with scikit-learn is used for artificial intelligence features. Requirements analysis from hospital staff surveys supports the iterative development process, which is guided by the agile methodology. System correctness, dependability, and usability are ensured through testing, which includes functional, and usability evaluation. The application's clean interface improves user experience, expedites urgent requests, and increases donor-hospital matching efficiency, according to system testing. Comparing semi-automated updates to manual procedures, the former also reduces human error. The study concludes by showing how technology-enabled solutions might improve medical equipment donation programs. While there are still issues with cross-border assistance, real-time tracking, and advanced recommendation personalisation, the findings indicate that these digital platforms can greatly enhance hospital resource allocation and responsiveness.
