Abstract
Security is a critical concern in residential and building access control systems. Conventional door lock mechanisms primarily rely on physical keys, which are vulnerable to loss, duplication, and unauthorized access, thereby compromising security. This project aims to develop an IoT-based smart door lock system that enhances security, accessibility, and user convenience through remote control and monitoring. The proposed system utilizes an ESP32-CAM module integrated with Wi-Fi connectivity and a Telegram bot for real-time communication. Users can remotely issue commands such as /lock, /unlock, and /photo via a smartphone interface. The system incorporates password authentication, where valid credentials trigger a servo motor to unlock the door, while invalid attempts activate a buzzer and initiate image capture for security monitoring. Experimental results demonstrate that the system successfully performs remote access control, real-time monitoring, and alert notification. However, minor limitations such as intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity and inconsistent hardware performance were observed. Overall, the developed system provides a more secure, flexible, and efficient alternative to traditional door lock systems.
