Abstract

Purpose : Nowadays, all the environments around us have been covered with the Internet, and our targets are to make Internet technology happens in the restaurant industry. Scope : This system provides the location navigation feature; online payment and recommendation which are able to attract more customers to use it since these kinds of features are integrated in a single application. Methodology : The process of the waterfall development model stages which included requirements, design, implementation, verification and maintenance with no returning method to proceed to the next progress. Conducted online survey and research of competitive industry to figure out the needs of the current restaurant industry. Development phases : As Android Studio does not support independent database, so we using cloud-based database service from the 000webhost.com to make connective interaction with Android Studio and ASP.NET Model-View-Controller (MVC). Assessment criteria used : Testing of the project to verify or validate the business requirements based on the whole system. Such testing will be tested on reservation, food ordering, food recommendation, table management, payment, user maintenance, and security modules. Results : Firstly, the table reservation is able to provide time suggested period if the customers provide the time are not available. It improved the user friendly of this system if the customer does not know what the actual time of the reservation available is. Since this reservation is allowed customers to choose their suitable time instead of using the time slot concept, so it may be helped customers to use it easily. Conclusions and Recommendations : In the future, if this new system has discovered and exploited enough, we will use the cloud synchronisation technology to enhance system response time. For example, service call, messaging, notification and so on.
