Abstract

For this project report, we will analyse Digital Signal Processing (DSP) system with the z-transform method. This report consist of six chapters. In Chapter 1, we introduce both DSP and also the z-transform. In addition, we would like to introduce mathematics program called MATLAB in order to shorten calculation time because this report consists a lot of calculation involved. Furthermore, the objective of doing this project will also be included. In Chapter 2, we will have literature review. In this chapter, we will reveal some of the latest information or news which are related to my project title, such as advanced technologies on DSP fields, evolvement of z-transform from day to day and so on. In Chapter 3, is the methodology, where we will depend on most of them expression and also tools in order to help us in doing this project. In section 1, 2 and 3 are all related to z-transform, which it is the basic formulation and it is essential to the project itself. In section 4, we will introduce some of the basic commands to be used to do calculation in MATLAB. In Chapter 4, it will be our known result, in our case, is the difference equation. In this chapter, we will use 2 methods to solve difference equation where we separated in 2 sections. Other than that, we will also include the relationship between transfer function and difference equation. In Chapter 5, we will have our main result, which are mainly focus on the analysis of DSP system. In first section, we will analyse the impulse response, step response and also system response of a DSP system. In section 2, we will discuss about convolution of a system which are related to the next section. As for section, we will analyse on the stability of a system, which are very essential to a system for practical uses. In Chapter 6, we will reveal the conclusion of the report and also our future work in this related field.
