Abstract

In this project, the main concept is to develop a storage tracing system in a company or warehouse or even shop via Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). The system is best use in factory where the reader is placed under the belt conveyor. It involves both hardware and software. The hardware itself is in fact bought from cytron while the software is build by Visual Basic 2010 programming and all data are then stored in Microsoft Access 2008. The three main parts in the project work closely to each other to create overall system that used to track items effectively and efficiently. The Hardware will read the signal/data/info from an RFID tag, sending all the info to VB interface and then store in database. The selling point of this project is the system will auto generate email to supplier once the stock is low. The system can be run perfectly even without the supervision from staff. An email will be sent automatically if the stock is low. In other words, the email can be sent manually when staff is around or automatically when staff is not around. Also, the system is able to generate daily transaction text file automatically. The text file can be view through message box from system.
