Abstract

Knowledge Management is one of the hottest topics today in both the industry world and information research world. In our daily life, we deal with huge amount of data and information. Data and information is not knowledge until we know how to dig the value out of it. This is the reason we need knowledge management. Knowledge Management (KM) refers to a multi-disciplined approach to achieving organizational objectives by making the best use of knowledge. KM focuses on processes such as acquiring, creating and sharing knowledge and the cultural and technical foundations that support them. The objectives of the research is to identity the critical success factors and perceived benefits of implementing knowledge management in Quality Management System in Manufacturing Industries, and also the relationship between critical success factors and perceived benefits. In order to examine the relationship between the critical success factors and the perceived benefits, literature review was needed to define the dependent variables and independent variables. 30 questionnaire survey were distribute randomly to the Manufacturing Factories in Malaysia. Data gained from questionnaire was analyzed by SPSS software and the results revealed the relationship between critical success factors and with the perceived benefits of KM implementation. An Knowledge Management success factor model was built based on the research findings.
