Abstract

This report is the final year report with the title : " Development of Finite Element Analysis for 3D sport rim and normal rim model" This project is to help student to understand more about Finite Element Analysis through using simulation software by solidwork 2010 software. By using the simulation software of solidwork, student able to understand easily how the meshing and the design of the wheel will give impact of the overall model's performance. Besides that, by using simulation student able to visualize the output result and how the rim will deform when the wheel undergo sudden impact force. The author faces several problems while designing and drawing the pattern of the rim in solidwork. The desired pattern of wheel could not be drawn easily due to the unique and specialty of the rim design. Fortunately, under the guidance of supervisor, both of the rim successfully drawn and simulation go smoothly and the required data also archieved. Lastly, there are still improvements to do in the future to further studies about the Finite Element Analysis on the sport rim. The author will further the development of Finite Element Analysis in the future.
