Abstract

The project is to build an artificial vision system that would be integrated with the FMS 200. Whereby, the objective of this project is to come out with a quality inspection and object orientation calibration with NI Vision Builder Automated Inspection (VBAI) system that would allow for both the academics and application propose. The image processing theory is applied into the system. Apart from that, Cosines Rule is adopted to obtain the angle of rotation of the cover for the product. Modbus and RS232 serial communication is very important so to get the V BAI communicate with a VB program in which the VB program will integrate with the SCADA software. Since this is a quality inspection system, a NI 1744 smart camera is used to acquire a high resolution image that allows the VBAI to process the image more easily.
