Abstract

Nowadays, there are people playing with remote control airplane as their hobbies and a way to spend their time. Some people might not have enough support to purchase a RC airplane. With an advance programming and technologies today, people can fly an airplane with their computer which flight simulation. Flight simulation is virtual software that allows people to fly aircraft and even build their own aircraft. This thesis presents a flight simulation called X-Plane. X-Plane simulator is an ultra realistic and powerful flight simulation. X-plane simulation comes with four software which is X-plane simulator itself, Plane-Maker, briefer and airfoil. In this thesis, only X-plane and Plane-Maker will used. By using this software, the skills and correct techniques of flying an airship can be learned before attempting a drive on an actual flight. With this powerful simulation, I have managed to produce a 4.2 meter airship. The airship is build according to the actual 4.2m airship. To design the airship that can fly in X-Plane, it required a measurement from the actual airship. When the measurement is recorded, the value will be used in Plane-Maker where the design of an airship will be produce. A careful will be reminded to be taken when designing the airship so it can function as real as the actual airship. After the design is completed, it will be tested in X-Plane Simulation to check whether it works properly. During the testing, a pre-flight check list for RC airplane will be recorded and will be produced. At the same time, it comes out with a safety manual of a RC airplane which is for other to use as a reference before fly an airplane.
