Abstract

This project presents the concept of PID control for the rotary inverted pendulum. The PID control aimed to control the DC motor to turn the arm left and right in order to balance the pendulum due to the feedback taken from a Multiturn-VR potentiometer. The PID control will control the rotary inverted pendulum in the upright position closed to equilibrium. Hence, this project require to obtain mathematical model of rotary inverted pendulum system and by using this mathematical model will be simulated using MATLAB/Simulink software for with and without PID controller. The PID control of the rotary inverted pendulum is based on the result of experiments where the pendulum response.
