Abstract

Babies are like to be rocked to sleep in baby hammock. It is very crucial to consider the safety issues of baby on baby hammock during rocking. It is observed that the electrical motor carry much of the unwanted noise to the baby cradle during rocking. Thus, an isolator is designed to isolate any unwanted noise carried by electronic motor to the baby cradle hence the noise level and vibration is reduced. The frequency analysis was carried out by using LMS SCADAS Mobile. The experiments were conducted for before isolation and after isolation. A comparison of the result between them was made. From frequency analysis, the results indicated that the amplitude of auto rocking and manual rocking is between 9mm to 69mm and 3mm to 46mm with the dominant frequency of 1.17Hz. The highest difference of noise level for automated rocking is 2.42% when 9kg with medium speed, whereas for manual rocking is 4.99% when 3kg.
