Abstract

The project is to design and fabricate a bending and cap pressing system for a twisted – wire brush to replace one of the manually assembly processes in the factory of Everyday Brush Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd., which is initially operated by an operator with a simple gadget. At the first, the design is done by using Solidworks. After design stage, the fabrication of a bending and cap pressing system for a twisted – wire brush is conducted. The main objective is to fabricate the machine to reduce production time and to increase the production rate. Initially the time taken for the operator to complete the process is 60 seconds. With the aid of machine, the time taken to complete the bending and cap pressing processes will be 12 seconds. The control systems of the bending and cap pressing machine include of actuators like pneumatic cylinders, sensor, stepper motor and gearbox. After the fabrication of the machine, the design control system was installed into the control panel and control with a programmable logic controller (PLC).
