Abstract

The reason of this project is to design project a footwear that detects a user’s irregular movement; as in they are not walking like they usually did. Footwear is an essential portion of daily life. Implanting sensors and various different usages started few years back. This article is about a project proposal that is to proceeded in the following semester. It recaps the advances in the areas of footwear-based wearable smart sensors and hardware. The microchip technology, recognizing knowledges, information communication, and information dispensation procedures of such wearable structures are all mainly reliant on the target request. Hence, the project proposal defines key request scenarios operating footwear-based structures with critical argument on their advantages. The studied application situations include footstep monitoring, plantar pressure dimension, walking posture and movement classification; as in can sense person’s change in walking after alcohol consumption, body mass and energy disbursement approximation, biofeedback; body response, direction finding, and fall risk uses. Furthermore, energy gathering from the footwear is also well-thought-out for review in this project, they are past shoes that uses the movement of the walking as a power source for the technologies in the shoe. The proposal also tries to show some appreciation on some of the most new advances in this following field of real-life smart portable footwears technology from minor young entrepreneur from Kickstarter site to giant tycon corporations like Under Armor and Adidas, as well as with the future work in the near future compulsory needs to development in this field.
