Abstract

Prolonged sitting due to the current working environment had caused people to develop bad body posture without self-aware which includes hunchback and imbalances in shoulder. These issues will cause severe injuries and damages to the body’s physical structure. Hence body-physio or corrector equipment is introduced in this project to provide postural guidance to the user. In addition, physical sensing and virtual sensing techniques are implemented to analyse the degree of angle for shoulder and spine, analysed data are then displayed via smart devices with a series of guidance to aid the users to correct their posture manually. As for the designation of body corrector equipment, the design is done by using SolidWorks. MPU6050 sensor is used for physical sensing technique to determine the shoulder and back posture. For virtual sensing technique, OpenCV which is written in Python version 3.8.8 is utilized in angle tracking of the shoulder through object tracking of two Hue-Saturation-Value (HSV) colour ranges. Both sensing parameter of MPU6050 and OpenCV showed reliable result output and the techniques are applied to the fabricated body corrector equipment. With the idea of integrating software computer vision into the hardware’s body corrector equipment with sensors, a body-physio corrector equipment with data system analysis is achieved.
