Abstract

In this project, hydrogel was synthesized by using poly(vinyl) alcohol incorporated with agar and graphene nanosheets while sodium tetraborate as crosslinker. The hydrogel is fabricated through mix solution method between PVA, agar, graphene and sodium tetraborate. The degree of swelling for pure PVA hydrogel is the lowest compared PVA/Agar/Graphene hydrogel. This degree of swelling increases from 279.2 to 455.3% with the addition of agarose. Besides, the self-healing efficient of single network PVA hydrogel is lowest compared to dual and triple network. The self-healing efficiency value was increased from 57.1 to 88.5% when adding agarose and graphene. Lastly, the conductivity of the hydrogels were increased from 2.3626×10-5 to 9.7876×10-5 S/cm-1 as the amount of graphene increases.
