Abstract

Bird flight has always inspired man-kind to achieve the dream of flying in the sky. In 1780s, mankind has begun to develop the aviation system from mimic bird wing to hot air balloon and into aircraft. With all the research done by the previous scholar, the development is going great and until now the development is still ongoing. This project will be focusing in the research on bird flight to gather the information and develop a travel kit which allow man-kind to travel within a distance efficiently. In this project, the focus will be on the conceptual design of the travel kit with the analysis of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis. Moreover, in this project the root causes for different conceptual design will be discussed and solved. Moreover, different flapping mechanism, gear mechanism and various wing designs will be discussed as well. Nevertheless, the relationship between the wingspan and the weight, and the Stress and strain analysis for critical component is discussed as well.
