Abstract

This study explores the production of a water pump gear by integrating silicone mold casting with 3D printing technology. Traditional gear manufacturing methods often involve multiple complex steps that are both costly and time-consuming. In contrast, 3D printing allows for the creation of intricate geometries with high precision and facilitates rapid prototyping. The primary objective of this project is to design a water pump gear using SolidWorks, fabricate a pattern through 3D printing, and produce the final product via silicone mold casting. This interim report outlines the activities completed during the first semester, including the design phase, initial prototyping, and mold fabrication. The focus of the second semester includes the design of individual pump components, analysis of critical mutual dependencies among those components, pump fabrication, and the integration and testing of a gear pump prototype.
