Abstract
Washing clothing is a daily chore that needs to be done for every household. At the same time, the process of drying clothing in the sun is the final stage of any cloth washing, consisting of removing the moisture from the cloths. Unpredictable weather complicates daily laundry tasks for many people, particularly in Malaysia, where rainfall patterns are often difficult to forecast and can be inconsistent. This variability creates challenges for effectively managing laundry in a reliable manner. In order to solve the aforementioned problems, an automated cloth sun drying rack came in mind to help people who spend most of their time away from home and to help the disabled. The automated cloth sun drying rack will automatically close the cover when it detects rain or when the surrounding is dark. When it is bright and not raining, the drying rack will automatically open the cover to let the sunlight shine on the clothes. There is also a manual switch which users can manually open and close the drying rack cover when needed.
