Abstract
This project focuses on the design and development of a robotic arm equipped with sensors for digital twin data transfer. The digital twin technology allows real-time simulation, monitoring, and optimization of the arm’s performance in a virtual environment, enhancing its precision and efficiency. The integration of an Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) provides accurate orientation control, allowing intuitive arm movements. This project explores robotics and digital twin technology, emphasizing innovations in industrial automation, predictive maintenance, and remote operations. Key technologies include the use of sensors, such as force and proximity sensors, combined with electronics like Arduino Uno and Raspberry Pi for control. Materials such as aluminium and 3D-printed components are chosen for their strength and versatility. The project addresses ethical issues like data security, job displacement, and environmental sustainability while aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9, 12, and 7, promoting innovation, resource efficiency, and clean energy. This work advances the potential of robotic systems in manufacturing, healthcare, and other sectors, fostering innovation and sustainability.
