Abstract

The current manual inspection process for wooden picture frame panels is labour-intensive, timeconsuming, and prone to human error, resulting in inconsistent product quality. This research presents an automated machine vision system designed to address these challenges. The system integrates a Basler line scan camera, a motorized linear platform, and pneumatic gripping to enable high-resolution scanning across multiple faces. Image acquisition is triggered via Arduino, based on input from a crash sensor. The system’s modular design allows for easy adjustment, making it capable of efficiently handling wood panels of various lengths and shapes. The camera was optimized to an exposure time of 500
