Abstract

Hand hygiene is crucial in both public and private environments and the extensive use of paper towels contributes to environmental pollution and is not environmentally friendly. To address this issue, the invention of hand dryers provides a more sustainability alternative to the use of paper towels. However, current hand dryers tend to have high energy consumption, slow drying time, expensive components and lower efficiency. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design a more affordable and energy-efficient washroom hand dryer. The goal is to design a long-lasting and environmentally friendly product that ensures a fast-drying time while reducing power consumption. The hand dryer is designed by using low-cost materials without affecting the performance. Various prototypes were being developed, and the final prototype is designed to be highly efficient and more durable compared to the traditional hand dryer, making it suitable for both public and private washrooms. Addtionally, material selection is documented in this report, and a circuit design was developed to illustrate how each component is connected, enabling the hand drying process to function effectively
